Primary School

Jordan Mbaraga
Primary School Principal
Hello from KICS Primary! I am excited to tell you a little more about the primary program! In our program, we strive for academic rigor, a safe learning environment, an understanding of social-emotional skills, and integration of the Gospel into everything we teach.
We are unique in providing a top-notch foundation for students to soar and be successful in middle and high school while, at the same time, providing space for students to explore their faith. All students are welcome here!
Our program includes specials classes to ensure students are well-rounded. Students take French three times per week, PE two times per week, and Kinyarwanda, music, art, and character education (Bounce Back) once per week. We also offer Digital Citizenship for our upper grades (3 - 5) to train students in safe online behaviors.
We not only welcome students, but families are an integral part of our community! With a variety of opportunities to get involved, volunteer, or just keep up with your students; we have room for it all! Parents are encouraged to be involved because a great school-to-home partnership is a recipe for success.
Lastly, our teachers are incredible! All of our teachers are at KICS because they want to be and believe this is where they should be. Their teaching is not just a job but is passion, calling, and service. Most of our teachers were trained in the US and UK. We also have teachers who haven’t trained in the US but have gone through training at KICS to totally embrace and embody our standards of teaching.
If you are looking for a safe, rigorous, and fun place for your children to build a strong foundation of learning, you have come to the right place- Kigali International Community School! We welcome you to the family!
