Kigali International Community School (KICS) is proud to provide service to Pre-Kingergarten students, beginning in the 2016-2017 school year. This Pre-Kites class gives families a unique opportunity for their student to be engaged in a classroom that will prepare them for kindergarten and long-term academic readiness here at KICS.
Pre-K plays an important role for students in their early childhood education. Without preschool, students are not always fully prepared for kindergarten and the subsequent grades. Enrolling your student in Pre-K allows them access to early success that will continue in the later grades by promoting positive and effective learning and development for your child.
KICS pre-kindergarten program is designed as an active and academic classroom where students will be engaged in learning, developing and discovering through play. Parents can be confident in knowing their Pre-K student will be receiving a quality education in a warm, welcome, and Christian-centered setting.
Learning through play is how children learn best. When children are playing they are really working and developing. Teachers will guide students in their play so they can better succeed in their learning. Pre-K students can expect to grow in academic skills such as letters, numbers, colors, shapes, phonological awareness, phonics, reading comprehension, and more. Play-based learning helps children to develop cognitive, emotional, critical thinking, confidence, and social skills as well as small and large motor abilities.
