As we celebrate our 10th anniversary there is much to rejoice in as we look back at God’s faithfulness. The motto for this next decade at KICS is
His Vision –Our Future
When I think of living out the vision of KICS, I’m reminded of the words of Sociologist James Davidson Hunter writes, “Based on history, in order to bring change to the world, it usually requires investment of three to four generations to bring lasting change.” As we are still in the early stages of our first generation, imagine the impact for Christ we might have if we hold true to living, teaching and modeling our vision and our four pillars in Rwanda and throughout the world over the next three to four generations to come.
When I imagine KICS, 20-30 years from now, I envision the full integration of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and cultural intelligence being modeled, discovered and taught. I picture KICS as a spiritual greenhouse that sends forth servant-leaders, who live out God’s message of grace, love, and truth daily in their careers and personal lives. In 20-30 years, I visualize a future where KICS will continue to expand the vision of education in Rwanda, East Africa and the Continent.
As we look forward to the fulfillment of this vision, we ask for your partnership in prayer and discernment. As our next steps, we are currently in negotiations on a 30 hectare piece of land. With the capital development fund, and continuing contributions from the KICS family, I believe it is within our reach to purchase this land as the KICS family. The land allows us to dream and plan for a world class facility that not only includes core academic buildings, but also, a fine arts center, a learning support center, a science center, an integrative computer technology center, a global leadership center, and a sports center.
As we look back at the past 10-years, we acknowledge this vision will take our faithful and unwavering commitment to listening to God’s vision for our future. We dedicate the next decade to purposefully and prayerfully pursuing God’s vision to ensure for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren an education that prepares them to serve as servant-leaders to the 4 corners of the world. Please join us as vision bearers for His Vision- Our Future.
