Welcome to the High School at Kigali International Community School. In grades 9-12 at KICS, students refine their critical thinking skills, deepen their worldview, and determine next steps for after graduation.
Our academic program offers a full American-style education in all areas of study with a global, missional perspective. This includes Advanced Placement courses and Pre-Advanced Placement courses, thus positioning students for admission to the world’s finest colleges and universities. Our range of curricular offerings provide a challenging, stimulating learning environment for students at all levels of academic, personal, and spiritual development, including those for whom English is an additional language.
The High School is also committed to developing our students’ co-curricular talents and interests. Our sports program offers students the chance to compete with their peers in local leagues, including football, basketball, and volleyball. Our program in the Visual and Performing Arts enriches both the students who are participating and the wider school community, including Choir, Band, Piano, Worship Band, Media, Photography, and Drama. Model United Nations is one of our largest student clubs, with students representing KICS at the EAMUN annual conference in Nairobi. Additionally, Student Council is vital to the culture at KICS, especially with our commitment to servant leadership among all of our students. One aspect unique to KICS is that of our student Mission Groups, which meet together each week and take on opportunities to impact the community through service.
“The vision of KICS is to impact the world for Christ by preparing servant leaders who choose character before career, wisdom beyond scholarship, service above self, and a lifestyle of participation over apathy.”
We believe that the success of a solid educational program rests in student ownership of their learning and partnership with parents and students. We welcome you to the High School community and encourage you to join the conversation!
